Great Pacific Garbage Patch
I watched the Plastic Planet documentary, on Netflix. Interesting. So, apparently, there's 2 x Texas-sized area of, mostly plastic, debris floating just beneath the surface, out in the pacific ocean. This is known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Ocean current configurations can result in a vortex, in a certain area. These, like the swirling in your toilet, concentrate floating debris in the center. So, I've tried to eliminate my use of plastic shopping bags. I've gotten these. Frankly, I was sick of the plastic ones accumulating in my home, despite my use of them as garbage bags. I actually prefer the more eco-friendly ones better. They are stronger, hold more, and are easier to load and unload.
